I started riding at the age of 7 and have successfully competed through Preliminary level in eventing and Second Level in dressage. I started competing at age 13 on my Arabian/Morgan cross, Flint, who competed through novice and who still resides at Fairwind Stables. In 1995, I started a working student position with Grand Prix jumper Wilhelm Genn of Lebanon, Ohio while attending Wright State University. After graduating with honors with a B.A. in English, I moved to the east coast to work for John and Kathy Hamilton full time. Moving to North Carolina gave me the opportunity to ride and compete all of the horses at Farnham Equestrian as well as learn more about stable management, equine nutrition, and equestrian finance. In addition to my working student positions, I have also ridden in clinics with Cathy Wieschoff, Stephen Bradley, Karen O'Connor, Jim Graham, and Peter Gray. In addition, I have ridden regularly with Lexi Myers, Jill Sackett, Dorothy Crowell, and Sharon Ridge. |

In the summer of 2002, I began my own business with the acquisition of Fairwind
Stables where I train and sell horses from green youngsters to seasoned
competitors. I also teach several students, many of which are competing
successfully in eventing from Starter to Training, as well as handle the day-to-day
work involved with managing a horse business. I continue to train towards
competing at the upper levels of eventing and dressage but definitely have a
passion for working with green horses and giving them a confident start.
In 2006, I married Ryan Miller and we reside at Fairwind Stables with our two
dogs, Tucker and Murphy. I couldn't have done all of this without my very
supportive parents - my mother, Debbie, who attends nearly every show as
groom, supporter, and videographer; and my father, Ted, who has been
responsible for all of the farm's improvements from building stalls to installing
fence.
